Ashtanga Yoga is a vigorous, flowing (vinyasa style) practice. While not a more advanced style of yoga, it often draws those looking for a more physically challenging pace. Ashtanga connects movement with breath in a dynamic series of postures done with calm focused attention for strength, flexibility, and a quiet mind. In an Ashtanga Flow "Present Power " class, we explore the methodology's traditional sequence, offered in an accessible way for all, adding some of what are called 'second series" poses for a balanced practice.
When we say "Heartsong Yoga Style," we mean that there is no "one way" or "only way" to do this practice, and while we stay true to the essence of the tradition, we make room for every-body by offering options, choices, and modifications along the way!
