Sheila Magalhaes is the co-owner of Heartsong Yoga and a seasoned yoga instructor & Yoga Therapist with extensive training and experience since 1993. She is passionate about the traditional practices of Ashtanga & Kripalu Yoga, and influenced by her studies of Wild Lotus Yoga, aka "Soul School "
Tony
Since opening Heartsong in 1993, Tony Magalhaes has worked behind the scenes in every capacity. He received his Kripalu Yoga certification in 1999 and continues to study classical Ashtanga Yoga, also known as the Eight-Limbed Path. He values how yoga fosters balance and equanimity in his life.
Beth
Beth Wadden earned her Kripalu certification in 1995 and completed her 500-hour advanced training in 2005. Known for her vitality and joy, her classes integrate a deep connection to the cycles and seasons of the natural world, highlighting our interconnectedness with each other and the environment.
Lisa
Lisa Zizza completed her first training in Atma Yoga in 2000. She holds Advanced Level certifications from Heartsong & Beryl Bender’s The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute. She is also a Reiki practitioner and is a devoted practitioner of Mindfulness Meditation in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh.
Jane
Jane Anable has been profoundly impacted by yoga & meditation since 1965. She's taught at Heartsong Center since 1998 and holds an advanced 500-hour certification in Kripalu Yoga. Additionally, Jane is trained as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner and studied the Silva Mind Control Method.
Janine
Janine Boland completed her 200-hour teacher training at the Kripalu School of Yoga in 2013. Over the past decade, Janine has expanded her expertise by studying Yoga in the Schools, Transformational Workshop Facilitation, Health & Life Coaching, Breath Coaching, and the Science of Stretching.
Amy
Amy Joseph completed her 200-hour teacher training through The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute with Beryl Bender & Sheila at Heartsong Yoga in 2014. Amy has furthered her practice through workshops with renowned teachers such as David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff, and Christine Hoar.
Lauri
Lauri Deary's yoga journey began with Kripalu & Ashtanga in 1996. She completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Todd Norian in 2003 and has since studied with several Certified Anusara Yoga teachers. Lauri classes are lighthearted, helping students connect with their inner radiance.
Cat
Cat Rasid has been practicing yoga since 1999. Inspired by the Kripalu tradition, she completed her 500-hour Advanced Level training with Beryl Bender’s The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute, under Sheila’s guidance at Heartsong Yoga in 2019. Her classes are always gentle and nurturing.
Joanne
Joanne Tardibuono holds Group Exercise certification training with the YMCA & AFAA. In 2003, she completed Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training. She continually expands her expertise with courses in health & fitness and holds certifications in “Teaching Yoga Nidra” & “Meditation: Inside and Out”.
Tori
Tori Tavenner has completed 200-hour certifications from both YogaRenew in New Jersey & The Hard and the Soft Yoga Institute with Beryl Bender at Heartsong Yoga. Tori’s commitment to continuous growth is evident through her continued education, including deep studies in Yin Yoga.
Jeff
In 2020, Jeff Conti completed his 200-hour training with The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute and Sheila at Heartsong Yoga. His passion is to share with others how yoga has helped him and how it can help anyone find balance in the “Hard and Soft” of life. He is a tradesman, musician, and dog lover.
Patty
Patty DeLuca, RN, earned certifications to teach through several esteemed programs, including The Connecticut School of Yoga, The Hard and Soft Institute at Heartsong Yoga, & Restorative Yoga Training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. Additionally, she has specialized in Yoga for Athletes.
Kathleen
Kathleen Gomally is a 500-hour graduate of Beryl Bender’s The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute at Heartsong. She has also studied Restorative Yoga and continues her education through monthly intensives with Kimberly Dahlmann of Yoga East, and is committed to continuing education.
Sheri
Sheri Wood-Devin is a graduate of an Advanced Level of 500 hours with the Hard and the Soft Yoga Institute with Heartsong, Sheila, and Beryl Bender. She has continued her studies with trauma-based Mindful Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda.
Sandy
Sandy Mohr is a certified yoga instructor with extensive training in Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda, holding a 500-hour professional certification. She is also a graduate of the 200-hour Present Power Yoga program at The Hard and Soft Yoga Institute at Heartsong Yoga, completed in 2020.
Scot
Scot McComas holds a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Northeastern University (1992) and a Master’s in Physical Therapy from American International College (1999). In 2023, he completed his 200-hour yoga teacher certification through Heartsong Yoga and The Hard and the Soft Institute.
Michelle Srebnick
MIchelle is a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga and it's sister practice Present Power. She was certified at Heartsong with Sheila and Beryl Bender's The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute, and has worked with student athletes and students of every level.
Kathy Proulx
As the facilitator of Heartsong’s weekly free meditation sangha, Kathy believes that meditation invites us into stillness, where we can reconnect with our true nature. By letting go of the obstacles that keep us from our authentic selves, we open to greater freedom, peace, and well-being.
Michele Scheuer
You will find Michele when she is subbing for us, with Yin Yoga as her specialty, and offering Gentle Yoga with a compassionate heart.
Maura
Maura Baker is a long-time behind-the-scenes and desk support for Heartsong. She is trained at the advanced level with Sheila & Beryl Bender with The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute, Her teaching is inspired by many trainings at Heartsong, along with her daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga.
Shannon
Reiki and Crystals are Shannon Bates's passion. She s is a Reiki Master Teacher, a crystal practitioner, and an advanced crystal master through the nationally accredited Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy. She also holds certification in Chakra Balancing work and studies Earth Medicine.
Chantal
Chantal is a Crystal Bowl Sound Healer with roots in a long lineage of intuitive ancestry and healers. She brings her pure quartz bowls and offers a deeply restorative experience for all. Additionally, she is a certified Holistic Health Counselor and a naturally gifted healer.
Priscilla
Formerly an international opera singer, Priscilla Gale brings her gorgeous Crystal Singing Bowls or her huge collection of Himalayan Singing Bowls and gongs to share their vibrational healing qualities to workshops all over New England.
Svara Sound
Svara Sound's Kimberly and Jeff utilize sacred instruments such as planetary-attuned gongs, ancient Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, voice, and other vibrational tools to create a magical evening of relaxation and a deeply healing environment for all.
