5-week Session 1: Mastering the Sun Salute & Standing Poses, plus "closing sequence"
followed by
3-week Session 2: The Seated Poses, adding on to the practice
You do not have to have taken Part 1; you might feel a little "behind," but you will easily "catch up" with patience. Some yoga experience is necessary.
There are no drop-ins for these courses.
We will allow ONE make-up per session, must be redeemed within 2 weeks of the end of the series, in any one of our drop-in yoga classes, no cash value.
(The first class generally goes a little late, with introductions and getting oriented.)
A progressive learning environment with individualized attention. Michelle will teach you the traditional Ashtanga Yoga practice, sometimes called "Power Yoga", a vigorous, strong, and heated style of yoga. Learn or fine-tune Sun Salutations, and learn the sequence of strong, strengthening standing poses in Session 1, along with the "Vinyasas" that link them together with the proper breathing technique. Session 2 will continue the practice, adding the fundamental seated poses for new students. This series will de-mystify the practice and offer individualized support, so you can have the confidence to jump into any Ashtanga, Vinyasa, or Flow class at Heartsong, or establish a home practice.
For those looking for a more athletic style of yoga. We welcome all beginning students or current students looking to add vinyasa flow to their practice. If you like repetition, order, and the idea of developing a meditation in motion that you can take with you anywhere, anytime, this style of yoga is for you! Small class size for personal attention. While the practice is strong, Michelle will offer choices and variations so you can feel progress with safety and confidence.
